Why Obesity Is A Huge Problem in the US

I’m watching a YouTube video by “iiSuperWomanii”. She’s talking about what guys can do to make her like them.

“When they understand my relationship with food, it’s like they know my soul.”

“Him: ‘Do you want french fries with that?’; Me: ‘I love you.’”

“FOOD IS LOVE.”

“Him: ‘I’ll buy you food.’; Me: ‘Okay, I’m not mad anymore.’”

Obesity rates in the US are skyrocketing.

Food is no longer just a reward. It’s something to love, worship, idolize.

It is not fuel for our bodies; it is to nourish our souls.

This is an extremely unhealthy relationship to have with food, and it is everywhere. At a restaurant, I saw a sign on the wall that said, Happiness is having a vanilla ice cream cone in one hand and a chocolate cone in the other. People eat candy as a reward, talk about diets and “cheat days,” and never think about having food in moderation.

Then, of course, there is the problem about cheap foods being high in carbs, schools serving fattening foods, and the unattainability of fruits and vegetables. All of these problems result in many obese Americans, and though some people care, it is not getting nearly enough of the attention it needs.
