Quora is a lot about interaction, too. Taking away the relationships and the one-on-ones would be a huge blow; the site would never recover. As someone who’s been using Medium for a while now, interaction is severely limited, private notes are always one-sided, and there’s no way to have a one-on-one here. It’s extremely difficult to form a bond with anyone on a site like Medium, while on Quora, it’s easy. That’s why all their great writers stay. Furthermore, you suggest moving to Discord like it’s easy, but it’s actually both very inconvenient and very annoying, and it would be an unsustainable practice. Overall, I do not think that the suggestion to remove DMs makes sense and my opinion won’t be changed with any of these arguments.
